A digital platform connecting Kiwis with property investment opportunities, backed by 30 years of building expertise.
Background
Investr is a new venture from Mike Greer Homes, one of New Zealand’s largest and most trusted independent residential builders. With over 15,000 homes delivered since 1993, the business saw an opportunity to leverage its building expertise in a new direction: helping everyday New Zealanders navigate their property investment journey.
Whether someone is purchasing their first investment property or adding to an existing portfolio, Investr offers wrap-around support – from initial consultation through to property selection and ongoing management. The challenge was to create a digital presence that could communicate this proposition clearly, build trust quickly, and convert visitors into consultation bookings.
Format Digital partnered with Strategy (brand) and McCarthy (web design) who each nailed the design, to bring Investr to life online.
Architecting for Conversion
The site architecture follows a deliberate priming → nudging → converting framework. Content is designed to progress users through this journey as they move through the site – the deeper they go, the closer they get to conversion.
The homepage functions as a complete micro-funnel, stacking content in psychological order: value proposition, process explanation then call to action. A single scroll takes visitors through the full journey.
Beyond the homepage, each section plays a defined role. Educational content such as resources primes visitors by building confidence and making the case for property investment. Tools like the Available Equity Calculator let users self-qualify before committing. Process-focused pages nudge by demonstrating how Investr simplifies the journey, and persistent calls to action ensure conversion is never more than a click away – landing with increasing relevance as users absorb more content.
This structure serves both seasoned investors (who can skip straight to properties) and newcomers (who benefit from the guided journey).
Purposeful Property Browsing
The investment properties section balances visual appeal with practical information. Each listing provides the essential details investors need – location, typology, pricing – without overwhelming the browsing experience.
Technology That Connects
The site is built on NextJS and Sanity.io, providing a fast, flexible foundation that the Investr team can manage independently.
Custom integrations extend the platform’s capabilities. HubSpot powers lead management and the consultation booking workflow, ensuring enquiries are captured and nurtured effectively. Outgrow enables interactive tools – including the Available Equity Calculator – that help visitors assess their investment readiness while generating qualified leads.
This technology stack ensures the platform can scale alongside the business, accommodating new properties, content, and features as Investr grows.
Bringing It Together
This project was a genuine collaboration across three partners. Strategy developed the brand positioning and identity that underpins the entire experience. McCarthy translated that brand into a considered web design. Format Digital contributed the wireframes, UX strategy, and overall site architecture before building the production site.
The result is a cohesive digital experience that feels both trustworthy and approachable – essential qualities for a service asking people to make significant financial decisions.
